Task
Customer had vast inventory to put online for a new e-commerce site. Many
products had hundreds or thousands of possible configurations because of colors,
add-ons, and other options. In addition, a number of products had the capability
to include stock images and offered printing options with dynamic text entered by
the web user.
Customer also wanted to have total control over the configuration of the products
and also have content control over the main page.
Solution
This was a very complex task. To gain maximum productivity in coding
and ensure optimum speed to market, ASP.NET was the language used. Microsoft
SQL Server is the backend database driving the site, with a set of finely tuned
stored procedures providing maximum efficiency.
